I have spent more than thirty years painting, teaching, and studying how art and design help people grow.

I am a working painter. Since moving to Canada I have shown oil, watercolour, and pastel work in Ottawa venues including Cube Gallery, SAW Gallery, La Petit Gallery, the University of Ottawa’s Art of Iran exhibition, and other group shows. In Iran I taught at galleries in Tehran and Shiraz—among them Ariush Gallery, Nima Petgar Art Gallery, and Firouzmand Gallery—and exhibited at Asar Gallery, Barg Gallery, Vessel Gallery, and in solo presentations of drawing and watercolour.

My studies have always stayed close to art and design. I hold a B.A. in Psychology and an M.A. in Educational Psychology; both theses looked at painting, perception, and children. In Ottawa I completed a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Interior Design at Algonquin College. Earlier research and teaching included colour work with children and writing on the social and psychological effects of art.

At Art Makers I teach drawing and painting to adults and children—figure, landscape, perspective, and portfolio preparation for college or university—as well as seasonal art camps. My aim is a lively, encouraging studio where students can enjoy making art and, if they wish, take real steps toward any art-related future.
